Blood Cancer Awareness Month 2026

It's that time of year again already!

Blood Cancer Awareness Month is here, and this September, we've got one simple question:

Where will you swab?

We're challenging you to swab wherever you may find yourself and show people just how quick and simple it is to join the stem cell register!

Take a leap – be as bold and creative as you like – and show us where you'll do the swab.

Check out some of the entries we've gotten already!

So, where will you swab?

Just three swabs

It really is as simple as our Do the Swab campaign suggests.

That's our mission this Blood Cancer Awareness Month, to show people just how easy it is to become a potential stem cell donor.

Joining the register is something small you can do that has a real impact and genuinely matters.

Prefer to register in person?

Not to worry – we've also got you covered.

If you'd prefer to swab in person with a member of our team, we've got two opportunities for you to do so this month. We'll be popping up at select locations across the country this September to raise awareness and get people registered.

Make a lifesaving donation

It costs £40 to register a new potential donor on the UK stem cell registry. Your donation helps us cover these costs and give more patients a second chance at life.

Each year, more than 40,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with blood cancer or a blood disorder. Every contribution helps someone in need.

Give money today

Small actions, big impact

Remember – every bit of support for our mission counts.

So whether you're doing the swab, spreading the word, or giving money, any way you can get involved this September will make a difference.

Every 14 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with blood cancer, so just 2 minutes of your time this September can have a huge impact on someone's life.
